A barbell gym is mostly a subscription business with a door on it, and that is exactly what GymKeeper handles: recurring memberships charged automatically from a card on file, pausing instead of cancelling, unstaffed hours on the door server, and reports that show who stopped turning up before they stop paying.

Yes, and it is where the product started. Climbing and bouldering gyms get memberships and punch cards, digital waivers signed before the first visit, courses and clinics with registration and payment, and door access for the hours nobody is at the desk.

Yes. With GymKeeper door servers the door decides who may come in and when: time-limited entry for off-peak memberships, wider hours for premium, and round-the-clock access for the full tier. The card or phone that opens the door is the same one that pays the subscription, so access follows payment without anyone reconciling the two.

Yes. Memberships renew on their own and are charged from a saved card through Paytrail or Stripe, so there is no invoice to send and no reminder to chase. A failed charge is retried and surfaced rather than left to lapse quietly, and a member can pause for an agreed spell instead of cancelling.

Access control is part of the system rather than a separate product bolted on: GymKeeper door servers open doors and turnstiles, consume serial cards at the door, and enforce per-membership hours. Because it reads the same memberships the till and the web shop sell, a lapsed payment closes the door without a second system to update.

Yes. OpenAir is the member-facing web app, so there is nothing to install from an app store — a link is enough. Members see their passes and memberships, buy more, book courses, read the gym's news, check their own visit statistics and, with door server hardware, open the door from their phone.

Can members buy gym passes online?

Yes. The web shop sells serial cards, memberships, gift vouchers and ordinary products, and the card or membership is created automatically on payment — nobody types it in afterwards. It takes cards and bank links through Stripe and Paytrail, and the Finnish wellness benefits Smartum, ePassi, Edenred and SportID.

We do not market or sell aggressively. Customers arrive by word of mouth, which suits us — it means the ones who come have already heard what it is actually like to use.

Certainly. There are ready-made tools for some systems, and if there is any way to get the old data out at all, we can import it.

The point of sale does, and it already runs across Scandinavia on NETS terminals. Others can be integrated too, but that means contacting the provider, getting the integration documentation and doing the work — so some expenses may be involved.
